Job summary

Vertical Recruitment Limited is supporting an established construction consultancy recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on a major National Grid programme in Suffolk. The role includes ownership across packages and close collaboration with client, contractors and project teams on infrastructure and energy projects.

Ideal candidates will have about 10 years of Quantity Surveying experience on large programmes, with NEC3/NEC4 knowledge, and a contractor-side

Qualifications

Around 10 years QS/commercial experience on major infrastructure.
Contractor-side background preferred.
Experience in energy, substations, transmission or utilities.
Strong NEC3/NEC4 experience, preferably Option E.
Contract administration and change management.
Experience in applications for payment and CVR preparation.
Supply-chain and subcontractor approvals.
Strong stakeholder management.
Experience mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of substation and associated infrastructure works.
Manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts and change.
Assess monthly Applications for Payment.
Prepare, review and monitor CVRs.
Manage commercial risk, cost and change throughout delivery.
Support procurement and supply-chain appointments.
Review subcontractor approvals.
Work closely with contractors and manage commercial expectations.
Build relationships with client and project stakeholders.
Develop and mentor junior team members.
