Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. seeks a Contract H&S Manager to lead QHSE across a multi-site Newark operation. You will drive compliance, quality and environmental excellence while influencing senior stakeholders and shaping the network's safety culture.

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will lead a multi-site QHSE team, embed strategy, governance and continuous improvement across locations, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable performance.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior QHSE leadership role within logistics or similar environments.
• Proven experience managing QHSE across multiple sites and leading geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, compliance requirements and systems.
• NEBOSH Diploma (or Level 6) and Chartered IOSH membership, or working towards Chartered status.
• Demonstrable success in embedding a positive safety culture across an organization.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills for senior leadership levels.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the contract-wide QHSE strategy across multiple sites, aligning with business and customer objectives.
• Drive a positive safety culture through behavioural safety initiatives and leadership coaching.
• Ensure full compliance with UK health, safety, environmental and quality legislation and standards.
• Oversee audits, governance programs and compliance reviews with effective corrective actions.
• Analyse performance data to identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
• Lead, coach and develop a multi-site QHSE team across operational leadership.
• Build strong relationships with customers, regulators and stakeholders to support continuous improvement.
