You will lead and embed the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) strategy across a high-profile logistics contract. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you'll be a key member of the Contract Leadership Team, providing strategic direction, governance and expert guidance across multiple operational locations.

Leading a team of QHSE professionals, you'll champion a proactive safety culture, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, drive environmental and quality performance, and support operational leaders to achieve business objectives safely and sustainably. This is a highly visible role where you'll influence stakeholders at all levels while shaping the future of QHSE performance across the network.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working predominately Monday to Friday, with the need to be flexible. There will be a requirement to travel to other sites.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £65,000.00 per annum, plus car or car allowance and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes flexible dental insurance plans, a company sponsored pension scheme, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Leading and delivering the contract-wide QHSE strategy across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with business and customer objectives
  • Driving a positive safety culture through behavioural safety initiatives, engagement programmes and leadership coaching
  • Ensuring full compliance with UK health, safety, environmental and quality legislation, as well as customer and company standards
  • Managing audits, governance programmes and compliance reviews, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented
  • Analysing performance data, identifying trends and delivering actionable insights to reduce risk and improve operational performance
  • Leading, coaching and developing a multi-site QHSE team while building capability across operational leadership teams
  • Building strong relationships with customers, regulatory bodies and key stakeholders to support continuous improvement and operational excellence

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience managing QHSE across multiple sites and leading geographically dispersed teams
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, compliance requirements and management systems
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) and Chartered IOSH membership, or actively working towards Chartered status
  • Demonstrable success in creating, embedding and sustaining a positive safety culture
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting at senior leadership and customer level
