Job summary

Xe is seeking a senior QA engineer to own end-to-end quality, shaping how the team tests from design to production observability. You will design integration and contract tests for flows moving money, and lead automation with Playwright and AI-driven tooling on a modern stack.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance, own quality strategy for your domain, mentor mid-level QA engineers, and contribute to release gates and incident reviews within an ambitious cross-functional

Qualifications

• 6 to 10+ years building production test automation, end-to-end.
• Strong test automation skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#, including test framework design and architecture.
• SQL and relational database fundamentals for test data, validation, and debugging.
• API testing (Postman, Bruno) and UI automation (Playwright, Cypress).
• Functional and non-functional testing principles with hands-on performance/load testing (k6, JMeter).
• Able to generate test cases and run manual tests alongside automation.
• Daily use of AI tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) across the SDLC.
• Production experience with AWS in dev/test and CI/CD with release gates.
• Payments, FX, or regulated-industry experience.
• QA leadership in test architecture and code review leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and own integration tests and contract tests for money-movement flows.
• Lead design of test automation gating code into production across onboarding, KYC/KYB, payments, FX, settlements.
• Balance manual and automated testing; write test cases and lead automation in Playwright.
• Own CI/CD quality strategy, release gates, and incident investigations; translate findings into tests and process improvements.
• Lead test-architecture reviews and mentor mid-level QA engineers.
• Use AI testing tools daily and build test estate for new capability on the modern stack.
