Job summary

HID is seeking a Staff QA Automation Engineer in Cardiff to lead automation strategy and build scalable test frameworks across software, devices and infrastructure. You’ll work with the Test Automation Manager to shape the roadmap, extend tests to hardware interactions, and improve end‑to‑end test capabilities in a continuous‑testing environment.

Qualifications

• An engineering degree, equivalent knowledge, or suitable practical experience.
• At least seven years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience designing and conducting software, device, systems‑integration and end‑to‑end testing.
• Substantial experience developing complex, maintainable automated test solutions using scripting or programming languages.
• Experience installing, configuring and testing software in Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience using SQL and/or NoSQL queries to validate data ingestion.

Responsibilities

• Create, own and continuously improve scalable automation test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor, triage and resolve pipeline test failures and implement changes for new features.
• Plan, execute exploratory testing for new features and defects using manual and automated approaches.
• Own technical designs for complex projects and communicate results to stakeholders.
