Job summary

Areti Group | B Corp™ is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join a new integrations squad supporting a major UK public sector programme.

You will design scalable data flows and APIs, write ETL scripts, and collaborate with Data Engineers and Digital teams to accelerate delivery of data capabilities. Hybrid work locations include Leeds, Sheffield or London with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in Python and SQL
• Experience across the software development lifecycle (testing, version control, CI/CD)
• Confident working with data sources and translating user needs into technical requirements
• Experience in agile multidisciplinary delivery teams
• Previous UK Government or public sector experience essential

Responsibilities

• Designing and building scalable automated data flows and APIs connecting operational systems, analytics and BI platforms
• Designing and writing ETL scripts for optimal performance
• Recognising opportunities to reuse data flows for scaling and repeatable use
• Translating user needs into technical requirements for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Using AWS services to deploy solutions in a reproducible, sustainable way
• Using Infrastructure as Code to deploy AWS cloud infrastructure
• Developing and optimising code, tools and services for effective data use
• Designing pipelines and services with observability, resilience and operational support in mind
• Contributing to daily support rota management of existing services and pipelines

Senior Python Developer – Data Integrations & APIs | Public Sector | Up to £470/day (Inside IR35)

We're hiring a Senior Python Developer to join a new integrations squad on a major UK public sector programme, building robust data flows and APIs that connect operational systems, analytics platforms, and business intelligence services.

You'll act as the primary technical interface between downstream digital teams and the core data platform team, working closely with Technical Architects, Data Engineers and Digital product teams to accelerate delivery of strategic data capabilities.

Location: Leeds, Sheffield or London (hybrid — travel flexibility dependent on team)

Clearance: Active SC clearance required, or strong confidence of obtaining it

Essential: Prior experience working within UK Government or wider public sector is required

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and building scalable automated data flows and APIs connecting operational systems, analytics and BI platforms
• Designing and writing ETL (extract, transform, load) scripts and code for optimal performance
• Recognising opportunities to reuse and re‑engineer data flows for scaling and repeatable use
• Working with data users to translate their needs into technical requirements
• Using a range of AWS services to deploy solutions in a reproducible, sustainable way
• Using Infrastructure as Code to deploy AWS cloud infrastructure
• Developing and optimising code, tools and services that enable effective data use
