Job summary

Searchability NS&D is seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to join their London team. The role focuses on building scalable backend services for AI/ML solutions, collaborating with data scientists and engineers to productionise models.

You will design APIs, leverage cloud platforms, and employ Docker/Kubernetes to scale applications, while upholding secure, maintainable software practices. Active SC or DV clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications and services using Python.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testing and maintainable system design.
• Experience building APIs, integrations and scalable software systems.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and an understanding of how ML models are deployed and used in production.
• Experience with ML-enabled applications or integrating models built using frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and modern software deployment practices.
• Understanding of infrastructure, application security and production environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Active SC or DV security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python.
• Build APIs, integrations and software infrastructure to support AI/ML solutions.
• Collaborate with data scientists to operationalise ML models in production.
• Develop reusable software components and tooling to accelerate AI-enabled apps.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Contribute to software architecture, design and engineering best practices.
• Make decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, secure and maintainable.
• Coordinate with engineers, data scientists and client stakeholders on complex projects.
