Job summary

Kier Group is recruiting a Senior Project Surveyor for the Durham NETPark project, based in Sedgefield/Hebburn. You will help manage cost, risk and value across a major scheme and work alongside the commercial lead to drive commercial outcomes through delivery to completion.

You will oversee applications for payment, negotiate value with the supply chain, monitor budgets, cost variations, and mentor more junior commercial staff as part of the team.

Qualifications

• Experience on commercial construction projects with NEC and JCT contracts.
• Delivered high-value projects (£20M–£100M) within a main contracting organisation.
• Hold a relevant degree, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
• Confident dealing with client representatives, sub-contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Hold a Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing applications for payment from sub-contractors and preparing client applications.
• Negotiating with the supply chain to achieve best value and awarding work packages.
• Monitoring actual expenditure against budgets through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports.
• Ensuring all variations are properly costed and logged in line with contract conditions.
• Mentoring and supporting more junior commercial staff.
