Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is partnering with a Tier 1 Contractor in the North East to hire a Senior Project Surveyor within the Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager team. The role focuses on controlling cost and risk across high-value construction projects from tender through to completion, with strong stakeholder collaboration and finance discipline.

Qualifications

Experience managing project cash flow and payment applications.
Strong cost control and financial governance on construction projects.
Solid knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions.
Proven ability to negotiate with subcontractors for best value.
Experience mentoring junior commercial staff.

Responsibilities

Managing project cash flow and preparing applications for payment to clients
Negotiating with sub-contractors to achieve best value and assessing returns from the supply chain
Monitoring actual expenditure against budgets through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports
Ensuring all variations are costed and logged in line with contract conditions
Mentoring and supporting junior commercial staff in their development
