Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan are recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor for a major commercial refurbishment in London’s West End. The project is valued at £150m–£200m with a salary of £60,000–£65,000 plus a package.

The role is permanent with ASAP start, or can wait for the right person. The successful candidate will manage the commercial aspects, procure subcontractors, handle accounts, valuations and final accounts, monitor costs and forecast financial performance, and work with the Project Manager and

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
• Experience on commercial refurbishment or structural alteration projects is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Experience in cost reporting, forecasting and commercial risk management.
• Knowledge of JCT contracts is preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Commercially aware and proactive.
• Relevant qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring costs are controlled and financial targets are achieved.
• Prepare and manage subcontractor procurement packages, including tender analysis, negotiations and appointments.
• Administer subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow and commercial performance, reporting any risks or opportunities.
• Assess variations, compensation events and changes to scope, ensuring these are accurately valued and agreed.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team to identify commercial risks and maximise project value.
• Assist with monthly cost reporting, CVRs and financial forecasting.
• Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
