Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a Senior Buyer - Sourcing to join our Service team in the UK. You will manage procurement activities for key projects, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality supply of goods and services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related discipline.
• Professional certification or working towards MCIPS.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven procurement and sourcing experience for site-based installation activities.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and cost management capabilities.
• Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
• Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems, SAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities for Service Business to align with project demands.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure sourcing activities follow local procurement policy.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability.
• Assist in setting up Framework Agreements and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Maintain procurement records, bids, pricing and evaluation processes.
• Provide regular reports on cost performance, savings and KPIs.
• Support forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives within the supply base.

Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our Service team as a Senior Buyer - Sourcing. The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing procurement activities in support of key projects, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality supply of goods and services. The Senior Buyer is an integral part of the Supply Chain Management team, working together to meet KPI’s and add real value to the overall success of Project Delivery. The role requires close collaboration with project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. This role provides the right individual to make a significant contribution to the Business.

How you'll make an impact

• Lead sourcing activities for Service Business to align with Project demands.
