Job summary

Mint Selection | B Corp is seeking a Senior Project Planner to drive delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. The role entails leading lifecycle planning, risk management and progress reporting to executives, with a focus on ensuring on-time, on-budget execution.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in M&E project planning, strong SIMOPS and earned value management experience, and proficiency in Primavera P6 and PowerBI.

Qualifications

  • Strong SIMOPS, risk analysis and contractor schedule validation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor project lifecycles, report progress to leadership and PMs.
  • Coordinate schedules, costs and resources; develop what-if scenarios.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align timelines.
  • Analyse schedule and cost variances; ensure SIMOPS compliance and corrective actions.
  • Support baseline schedules, risk management and lessons learned documentation.
  • Contribute to project closeout activities.

Our client, a renowned Independent Power Producer (IPP), is seeking a Senior Project Planner to support the successful delivery of cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. This role is instrumental in ensuring seamless project execution from inception through to completion, contributing directly to the clean energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and monitor full project lifecycles, reporting progress to senior leadership and project managers.
  • Coordinate schedules, costs, and resource models, including developing “what-if” scenarios to mitigate project risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align timelines and validate contractor schedules.
  • Analyse schedule and cost variances, ensure SIMOPS compliance, and recommend corrective actions to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Support progress reporting, baseline schedule development, and risk management processes.
  • Contribute to lessons learned documentation and project closeout activities.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of proven experience in project planning within Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects.
  • Strong expertise in schedule coordination, cost forecasting, and earned value management.
  • Solid understanding of SIMOPS, contractor schedule validation, and risk analysis.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong focus on delivering high-impact renewable energy projects.
