Job summary

Crown House Technologies, part of Laing O\'Rourke, is recruiting a Senior Project Planner for the Great Grid Project in the Midlands.

Initially based in Birmingham during pre-construction, the role will transition to hybrid work from Q3 2027, across Birmingham sites as construction advances to 2031.

You will develop and control programmes, collaborate with leadership, clients and supply chain, and drive continuous improvement on major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading planning on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to influence teams and provide strategic programme advice.
• Proven expertise in developing and maintaining integrated project programmes.
• Excellent knowledge of project controls, planning techniques, and contract planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and project controls function throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain and manage integrated programmes from pre-construction to delivery.
• Produce contract, construction, procurement and short-term programmes.
• Collaborate with project teams to craft efficient construction strategies.
• Monitor progress, analyse programme performance, and flag mitigations.
• Provide programme advice to leadership on commercial/contract implications.
• Coordinate programme information with clients, stakeholders and suppliers.
• Support resource planning and mentoring of planning professionals.
• Maintain robust project controls, reporting and forecasting.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
