Job summary

A leading construction company in the UK is seeking a Senior Project Planner to support the Great Grid Upgrade, managing major infrastructure projects. This role offers hybrid working and travel to Birmingham. Ideal candidates should have proven planning experience on projects over £300m, proficiency in Primavera P6, and the ability to lead diverse teams. Qualifications

• Experience across the full project lifecycle from pre-construction to delivery.
• Ideally experience in the power or energy sector.
• Flexibility to travel to Birmingham 3-4 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate planning from tender through delivery.
• Develop and maintain robust, logic-linked construction programmes.
• Provide expert input on construction sequencing and methodology.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and project requirements.
• Implement and maintain Project Controls with accurate forecasting.
• Mentor and develop planning team members.

Skills

Proven planning experience on major infrastructure projects (£300m+)

Proficiency in Primavera P6

Strong understanding of NEC contracts

Ability to lead, mentor, and influence teams

Education

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline

Chartered status (CIOB, ICE) or working towards it
