Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Risk Manager to lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks across transport and infrastructure projects. You will embed a strong risk culture, maintain risk registers, and report to senior management with clear insights.

The role focuses on high-speed rail design and may support other UK markets. A robust qualification in risk, PMI/APM or PRINCE2 is expected, with experience in risk software tools and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing risk within infrastructure, construction or large-scale projects.
• Demonstrable experience in risk management or a closely related project controls discipline.
• Experience facilitating workshops with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into risk insights.
• Experience in qualitative and quantitative cost risk analysis.
• Advanced Excel and Word, with PowerPoint for presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, processes and procedures.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report project risks and compliance.
• Facilitate risk workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
• Maintain risk registers with records of risks, controls, actions and owners.
• Track mitigation actions and evaluate effectiveness of risk controls.
• Escalate significant risks to senior management.
• Prepare risk reports, dashboards and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support teams and clients with practical risk mitigation solutions.
• Collaborate with project leadership, engineering teams and 3S teams on risk matters.
• Ensure alignment with governance, delivery priorities and contractual requirements.
