Job summary

Aureos is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major nuclear decommissioning and demolition project in Dungeness. You will have accountability for safe, compliant delivery under NEC4, managing radiological waste handling, regulatory compliance and risk across multiple workstreams.

The role requires strong leadership, deep demolition method knowledge, and experience managing complex infrastructure or nuclear projects with regulators and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Essential: MIDE or CCDO qualification.
• Desirable: Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in demolition/deconstruction projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience in highly regulated environments.
• Understanding of demolition methodologies, temporary works, and sequencing risks.
• Excellent health, safety and environmental leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of major nuclear decommissioning/demolition packages.
• Manage subcontractors and specialist demolition contractors, ensuring safe systems of work and high-quality outputs.
• Drive performance across HSEQ, programme, and commercial outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety case requirements, regulatory standards, and site licence conditions.
• Manage demolition and dismantling activities, including radiological waste handling and disposal.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, radiological protection and commercial functions.
• Plan, programme and sequence complex demolition works.
• Manage NEC4 contractual requirements including early warnings, compensation events and programme submissions.
• Maintain robust risk management for radiological, structural and environmental hazards.
• Foster client relationships and act as interface with regulators.
• Produce progress reporting on cost, risk, and performance.
• Promote safety leadership, continuous improvement and collaboration.
• Lead decision-making to resolve delivery challenges and mitigate delays.
• Ensure teams are trained and aligned with objectives and behaviours.
• Maintain project records including cost tracking and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate RAMS and safe systems of work; review monthly.
• Oversee temporary works and Near Miss reporting.
