Job summary

Renishaw in the UK is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams within the Laser Calibration Products Division. You will manage the project lifecycle from planning through to market release, reporting to stakeholders and ensuring delivery against time, cost and quality targets.

Qualifications

• A Degree or HND in an engineering or scientific discipline, or the ability to demonstrate comparable applied knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of project planning and project management techniques.
• Technical awareness and understanding of design functions and engineering change processes.
• Previous experience in a project/risk management role, ideally within a complex engineering environment.
• Awareness of MRP/ERP systems.
• Understanding of metrology and optical measurement technology.
• Experience of Design/Process FMEA & risk management.
• APMP/PMQ Qualified.
• Experience of configuration management systems for managing software development and changes (e.g., Microsoft DevOps, Atlassian products, SharePoint etc)

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-disciplinary projects from planning to delivery of new products to the market.
• Manage project cost and resource forecasts.
• Manage design changes, adhering to change procedures, with design and manufacturing teams to implement in production.
• Develop special solutions for key customers from requirements to production, ensuring specs and delivery times.
• Develop and maintain accurate project documentation and plans, ensuring adherence to Renishaw and legal standards.
• Regularly report project status and risks to stakeholders via written, verbal, and presentation updates.
• Take a hands-on role to understand engineering problems and support resolution.

Our range of Laser Calibration products set the benchmark in accuracy for thousands of engineering processes and systems ranging from CNC machining to the manufacture of advanced semiconductors and are recognised as the gold standard in the market.

Renishaw’s Laser Calibration Products Division (LCPD) is made up of engineers, scientists and technicians all collaborating to produce market leading products for sale around the world. Working closely with colleagues in our manufacturing division, we develop manufacturing and assembly processes and software to deliver quality products that in turn, perform reliably and repeatedly to sub-micron accuracies for our customers.

We’re currently looking for a Project Manager to work within multi-disciplinary design teams to co-ordinate product development projects within LCPD. As a Project Manager in LCPD, you’ll work within Renishaw’s design change process and new product development process to manage exciting projects through the project lifecycle and report progress to various stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management of multi-disciplinary projects, from planning, execution and delivery of new products and technologies to the market through the most optimal methods
• Manage project cost and resource forecasts
• Manage design change, adhering to engineering change procedures and processes, work closely with design and manufacturing teams to implement changes into production
• Manage development of special solutions for key customers, from requirements capture through to production, ensuring specifications and delivery times are achieved
• Develop and maintain accurate project documentation and plans, ensuring adherence to Renishaw and legal standards
• Regularly report on project status and risks as agreed with the stakeholders, communicating through written word, conversations, and presentations
• Take an active, hands-on role to understand how engineering problems are resolved thoroughly and help support that resolution
