Job summary

NRL Group in Wormington, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a £200 million compressor station project. Hybrid/multi-site work is required, with on-site presence in Wormington and occasional travel to Cheltenham and Woking as the project progresses through delivery.

You will head a multidisciplinary team, oversee safety, programme, cost and quality, and manage client and subcontractor relationships across the project lifecycle into commissioning, with strong governance

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ project management experience.
• Proven track record on high-value, complex projects.
• Strong experience in heavy civils, process industries or process plant environments.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong experience managing subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
• Excellent commercial, contractual and programme management capability.
• Confident in safety-critical project environments.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Flexibility to work across Wormington, Cheltenham and Woking.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take a key leadership role on a major £200 million Compressor Station project in Wormington for a natural gas client.

The project is currently in the pre-construction phase, with construction planned to commence in the spring and work continuing well into 2030.

Once the project moves into delivery, the role will require approximately 4 days per week on site in Wormington, with some multi-site working between Cheltenham and the regional office in Woking.

This is a significant leadership position requiring someone comfortable operating on large, complex projects of a similar value and scale. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately 12–20 staff, including 5–6 direct reports, while working closely with the client, subcontractors and wider supply chain.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with:

• A minimum of 10 years’ project management experience
• A proven track record delivering high-value, complex projects of a similar scale
• Strong experience within heavy civils, process industries or process plant environments
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong experience managing subcontractors and supply-chain partners
• Excellent commercial, contractual and programme management capability
• Confidence operating within complex, safety‑critical project environments
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Full project lifecycle experience is preferred, although candidates with particular strengths across major phases of project delivery will also be considered
• Flexibility to work across Wormington, Cheltenham and Woking, with the project moving to approximately 4 days per week on site at Wormington
