Job summary

GBR Recruitment Ltd is actively seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Project Design Engineer for a leading Recycling / Material Handling machinery manufacturer. You will design sheet metal and large structural components, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and drive projects from concept through installation.

Key skills include 3D/2D drafting, BOM creation, and strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, and MHE conveyor systems.

Qualifications

Solid knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D/2D layouts and assemblies.
Experience in sheet metal fabrication and large structural components.
Proven ability to manage design through to installation on high capital machinery.
BOMs and manufacturing manuals experience is preferred.
Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering is expected.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering disciplines to complete specialist machinery designs, builds and installations.
Produce 3D/2D general arrangement drawings in SolidWorks or AutoCAD for plant layouts.
Lead concepts through design, release, manufacturing, testing and commissioning.
Create and release BOMs on the MRP system.
Produce manufacturing and operating manuals.
Define technical specifications to meet customer requirements and compliance.
Carry out site surveys and verify installation measurements.
Support installation, commissioning and testing to OTIF and quality standards.
Contribute to cost analysis and process improvements to reduce costs without reducing quality.
Assess machinery build and installation proposals to ensure orders meet requirements and manage cost risks.
Liaise with suppliers and customers to refine processes.
