Job summary

Gatwick Airport Limited is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead design management on a portfolio of commercial and fit-out projects at London Gatwick. You will drive the design process from inception through completion, balance functionality with cost and risk, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainable outcomes in a complex live environment.

The role follows a hybrid pattern with three days in the office and two days remote.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Architecture or Engineering (or Construction related Degree).
• Chartered membership (RIBA/ARB) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements for commercial buildings and fit-out projects.
• Experience in project scoping and preparing detailed project briefs; working knowledge of British Standards.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and coordinating design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management of a portfolio of projects from design through to completion.
• Ensure design meets project requirements and provides value for money.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to support successful delivery.
• Engage early with sponsors and develop the wider team for diverse project types.
• Provide technical input to design changes throughout the lifecycle.
• Fulfill Principal Designer duties under CDM Regulations with support.
