Job summary

Heathrow Airport Limited is seeking a Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical and Electrical in London with hybrid working. You will lead M&E design delivery for major airport infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance and technical excellence across projects.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status (or active progression) and proven ability to navigate complex live airport environments while collaborating with design consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Chartered Engineer status or working towards in Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
Proven M&E design experience for large-scale infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and health and safety obligations.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication of solutions.

Responsibilities

Review and approve M&E design submissions to ensure compliance with Heathrow standards and regulations.
Provide expert guidance on M&E design, sustainability, and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues and maintain design assurance.
Conduct technical audits and prepare reports aligned with governance frameworks.
Lead continuous improvement to enhance design efficiency and quality.
