London Gatwick Airport is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead design management for a portfolio of commercial and fit-out projects. You will shape project briefs, coordinate design teams, and ensure value-for-money outcomes across multiple stakeholders.

The role blends office-based design work with site coordination and requires a proactive, collaborative approach to deliver complex projects at the airport.

Qualifications

• University degree in Architecture or Engineering or related Construction discipline.
• Chartered membership (RIBA/ARB) or engineering institution desirable.
• Knowledge of technical/regulatory requirements for commercial building and fit-out projects.
• Experience in scoping projects and preparing detailed briefs; knowledge of relevant British Standards.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and project delivery environments.
• Experience coordinating design teams and multi-disciplinary resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management for a portfolio of projects from conception through completion.
• Ensure design meets project requirements and delivers value for money.
• Collaborate with external design consultants and internal stakeholders across multi-discipline teams.
• Develop project scope, design briefs, and manage design contracts.
• Support sustainability goals through energy-efficient design and materials choices.
• Act as principal designer liaison under CDM Regulations 2015.
