Job summary

Westlakes Recruit are supporting a leading civil engineering contractor in the search for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team on major infrastructure projects across the UK. You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and delivery teams to provide technical leadership from design through to construction.

The role requires a strong engineering background, leadership ability and commercial awareness to deliver projects safely, on programme and to high quality

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Significant experience delivering major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing Senior Engineers.
• Strong understanding of design management, temporary works and quality systems.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting cost control and contract administration.
• Experience managing engineering programmes, procurement activities and material controls.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
• Manage design information to ensure buildability and efficient delivery.
• Support cost control, contract administration and commercial reporting.
• Mentor Senior Engineers and site teams to deliver quality.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards and design requirements.
• Oversee quality and environmental management, ITPs, and risk controls.
• Coordinate temporary works and site delivery with designers and clients.
• Drive value engineering and innovative construction solutions.
