Job summary

Involve Recruitment Ltd. is working with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor to recruit a Senior Engineer for a long-term five-year framework in South Wales, focusing on wastewater infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant site-based experience within civil engineering or heavy infrastructure.
• Experience in Senior Engineer or similar role.
• Experience delivering major civil engineering projects, ideally in water, wastewater, utilities or other heavy infrastructure environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong technical, organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering and delivery issues.
• Commitment to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and technical leadership across site activities.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Undertake and oversee setting out, surveying and dimensional control activities.
• Monitor construction activities against drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Section Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors to coordinate delivery.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, escalating where appropriate.
• Assist with the preparation and review of RAMS, ITPs, quality documentation and inspection records.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and ensure relevant documentation is completed.
• Support the management of design changes, technical queries and site instructions.
• Monitor progress and contribute to programme reporting.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of upcoming works.
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and other members of the engineering team.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects throughout the five-year South Wales framework.

We are currently working with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor with an extensive track record of delivering major UK infrastructure projects.

The business is delivering a long-term, five-year framework across South Wales, focused predominantly on major wastewater infrastructure, upgrades and improvements across the region. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer to join their project delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Engineer to take a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure projects, working alongside an experienced project team and contributing to the successful delivery of a long-term framework.

The Role:

As Senior Engineer, you will provide technical and engineering support across project delivery, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management team and wider engineering function. You will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, accurately and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality requirements.

About You

• A Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Significant site-based experience within civil engineering or heavy infrastructure.
• Previous experience working in a Senior Engineer or similar engineering position.
• Experience delivering major civil engineering projects, ideally within water, wastewater, utilities or other heavy infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, engineering standards and quality requirements.
• Experience with setting out, surveying and engineering control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong technical, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with project managers, site teams, designers and subcontractors.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering and delivery issues.
