Job summary

Location: Glasgow + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Mon to Fri

What you'll do

As a Senior Project Engineer you will be part of a team who are responsible for the technical assurance of the SPEN Strategic Telecoms network across Scotland and the interfaces into the SSEN, National Grid and Manweb telecoms networks.

The role involves assisting assure operations in meeting the defined technical standards and requirements of the SPEN telecoms strategic network. Providing technical expertise to the group you will have strong technical leadership, offering guidance and support to our engineering teams and in ensuring technical assurance is integrated into our ways of work.

You will be working in conjunction with our engineering teams the role will provide 3rd line support to the 1st and 2nd line engineering teams, deal with complex and escalated technical issues. You'll be key to the growth of the team, providing training & guidance to assist in skills development. You will be a trusted technical partner, providing representation and leadership, along effective stakeholder management and effective communication at customer meetings where required.

The role will involve some travel across Scotland and will require a full driving licence.

You will also provide 3rd line technical expertise in delivery, diagnose & troubleshoot problems that cannot be resolved by lower support levels and act as the final point of escalation for technical issues.

Who you are

  • Experience in maintaining monitoring and troubleshooting networks and systems
  • IP networking (Wan, LAN, MPLS)
  • Nokia S AR-H, Nokia N MF-P
  • Excellent knowledge of routing switching and data networking.
  • Experience working in a 3rd line support role
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation including review of design documents prior to delivery for a customer
