Job summary

Sentinel in Manchester is seeking a Sprinkler Project Engineer to own a diverse portfolio of fire sprinkler installation projects across the North West. You’ll manage programmes, budgets and quality from award to handover, with a hands-on approach and clear progression paths.

You\'ll work with clients, designers and site teams, ensure compliance with BS EN 12845 and related standards, and help drive training and professional development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a project engineering role within fire sprinkler systems.
• Sound knowledge of sprinkler installation and relevant standards.
• Confident reading and interpreting drawings/specifications.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage sprinkler installation projects from start to finish, including programme, budget, quality and safety.
• Coordinate with clients, main contractors, designers, suppliers and site teams.
• Manage subcontractors and site operatives to keep projects on track.
• Carry out site visits, progress reviews and installation checks.
• Oversee commissioning, testing and handover documentation.
• Produce reports, valuations and variations.
• Ensure compliance with BS EN 12845, LPC Rules and FM Global.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Sprinkler Project Engineer to join their Manchester-based team and deliver a varied portfolio of projects across the North West.

What you'll be doing

• Managing sprinkler installation projects from start to finish, covering programme, budget, quality and safety
• Coordinating with clients, main contractors, designers, suppliers and site teams
• Managing subcontractors and site operatives to keep projects on track
• Carrying out site visits, progress reviews and installation checks
• Overseeing commissioning, testing and handover documentation
• Producing reports, valuations and variations
• Making sure all work complies with relevant standards (BS EN 12845, LPC Rules and/or FM Global)

What we're looking for

• Experience in a project engineering, design engineering or similar role within fire sprinkler systems
• Sound technical knowledge of sprinkler installation and relevant standards
• Confident reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and organisational skills, and a hands‑on approach
• Full UK driving licence
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential. Talented candidates from a related fire protection or M&E background will also be considered
