Job summary

Fluence seeks an experienced EPC Project Manager for utility-scale power systems in the EMEA region, based in Greater London. You will manage external engineering firms, ensure designs meet contractual requirements, and lead cross-disciplinary teams across HV, PV, and energy storage projects.

The role emphasizes safety, ISO 9001 compliance, value engineering, and collaboration with procurement, stakeholders, and contractors, with international travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in design and execution of utility-scale power systems, PV plants, BESS, or similar energy infrastructure within EMEA.
  • Strong EPC project experience with HV systems, renewables, or conventional power generation.
  • Excellent technical understanding of complex energy projects and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage external engineering firms, subcontractors, and internal disciplines (civil, electrical, network, permitting).
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual requirements, constructability, and regional design/regulatory/cost impacts.
  • Lead internal/external design reviews and ensure ISO 9001 and Fluence quality processes compliance.
  • Drive value engineering and innovative approaches to improve system design, constructability, efficiency.
  • Support procurement with construction/electrical equipment specs and technology evaluations.
  • Review designs for compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Take full technical responsibility for assigned EPC turnkey projects (HV systems).
  • Manage technical escalations and resolve engineering/execution challenges.
  • Execute projects in line with Fluence safety requirements and KPIs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Travel across the EMEA region as required to support execution and stakeholder engagement.

Job description

  • Manage external engineering firms, subcontractors, and internal engineering disciplines, including civil, electrical, network, and permitting teams
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual requirements, are constructible, and account for country-specific and regional design, regulatory, and cost impacts
  • Lead internal and external design review meetings and ensure compliance with Fluence’s quality management processes and ISO 9001 standards
  • Drive value engineering initiatives and promote innovative approaches to improve system design, constructability, efficiency, and project outcomes
  • Support procurement by developing construction and electrical equipment specifications and conducting technical evaluations of vendor and subcontractor proposals
  • Review internal and subcontractor designs for compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and contractual obligations
  • Take full technical responsibility for assigned EPC turnkey projects, including medium- and high-voltage systems
  • Manage technical escalations and resolve engineering and execution challenges
  • Execute projects in alignment with Fluence safety requirements and KPIs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes, procedures, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Travel throughout the EMEA region as required to support project execution and stakeholder engagement
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and execution of utility-scale power systems, photovoltaic (PV) plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or similar energy infrastructure projects within the EMEA region
  • Strong expertise in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects involving high-voltage systems, renewable energy, or conventional power generation
  • Excellent technical understanding of complex energy projects and engineering principles
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Solution-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple disciplines and stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Completion of Fluence safety training programs
  • International travel health certifications, where required for business travel to specific countries
  • Additional technical certifications or specialized engineering training are considered an advantage
  • German and/or additional European languages are advantageous
