Join Our Team as a Senior Project Director within our dedicated Ophthalmology team.

About this role

As part of our Global Ophthalmology Project Management team, you will work alongside passionate and innovative professionals to ensure our customers achieve their goals.

The Senior Director of Project Management is responsible for providing oversight to Project Managers in their daily management activities, ensuring support in meeting operational and financial deliverables according to customer requirements and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for global or regional ophthalmology clinical trials across all phases.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong communication, satisfaction, and long-term partnerships.
  3. Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure high-quality execution, on-time delivery, and budget adherence.
  4. Oversee project timelines, risk mitigation plans, and issue resolution across multiple studies or programs.
  5. Maintain in-depth knowledge of ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, and therapeutic developments in ophthalmology.
  6. Guide and mentor project managers and clinical operations staff to support their growth and project success.
  7. Monitor and manage project budgets, financial forecasts, and change orders to meet financial targets.
  8. Participate in bid defense meetings, proposal development, and strategic planning to support business development.
  9. Ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory expectations.
  10. Collaborate with medical, regulatory, data management, and biostatistics teams to optimize project outcomes.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinical research professional with a strong background in ophthalmology and will meet the following criteria:

  1. Proven success in managing ophthalmology clinical trials across multiple phases.
  2. Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for business growth and client relationship development.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in life sciences.
  4. At least 10 years of experience in clinical research, including significant leadership roles in projects or programs.
  5. Deep knowledge of ICH-GCP, global regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
  6. Thorough understanding of the clinical drug development lifecycle and operational challenges.
  7. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and ensure delivery within quality, timelines, and budgets.
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams and with clients.
  10. Experience supporting bid defense meetings, proposals, and strategic planning.
