Job summary

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory Limited is seeking a Project Controls Lead to manage day-to-day operations of the Project Controls team within the PMO. You will oversee cost control, scheduling, risk management and reporting for UKNNL projects, coordinating with project managers and sponsors to deliver reliable forecasts.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to drive improvements across governance, tools and processes.

Qualifications

• Line management/leadership responsibility in a Project Controls delivery environment.
• Experience delivering senior Project Controls services on complex projects/programmes/portfolios.
• Involvement in strategic-level discussions and development of functional/service delivery strategies.
• Ability to present at all levels of seniority within organisations.
• Commercial awareness to support customer facing projects.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (UK residency).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Project Controls team.
• Embed a Project Controls framework aligned to the PMA and Delivery Operations strategies.
• Monitor performance and identify capability improvements and development opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement activities for governance/procedures/tools/systems.
• Participate in PMO senior reviews and manage related actions.
• Deliver cost control and reporting services to Project Managers and Sponsors.
• Provide senior oversight on complex projects and risk reviews; develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare forecasts, WBS, and progress reporting within a robust controls framework.
• Communicate issues to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
