Job summary

National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking a Senior Project Co-ordinator in Swindon to support the Green Corridor programme. The role requires strong organisation, proactive planning and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a collaborative approach, working 40–60% onsite across National Trust sites in urban

Qualifications

  • Practical experience with project management processes, administration and systems including procurement, finance and reporting.
  • Strong ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience budgeting and collating/analyzing data for reports.
  • Experience researching or analyzing evidence to support decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, plus other financial/visitor analytics tools.

Summary

We're looking for a Senior Project Co-ordinator to join our National Urban team and help deliver the Green Corridor programme. You'll support project delivery, coordinate activities, build strong relationships with colleagues and partners, and help keep projects on track. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, proactive and confident managing multiple priorities, while contributing to work that helps create greener, healthier urban spaces for people and nature. This role is a fixed term contract until 28 May 2027.

What it's like to work here

You'll be part of our National Urban team, which leads the Green Corridor programme and supports urban teams across the country. It's a collaborative and supportive environment where people work together to share knowledge, solve challenges and create positive outcomes for nature and communities in urban areas.

Much of our work is connected to National Trust places, so you'll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. This means no two days are quite the same, and you'll play a part in bringing people together.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You'll support the delivery of our Green Corridor projects by tracking progress, coordinating activities and helping teams stay informed with relevant national updates and guidance. You'll attend meetings, take notes and manage actions, while building positive relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders across National Trust sites and beyond.

Working closely with Urban Programme and Project Managers, you'll also collaborate with fundraising and communications teams to raise awareness of our urban work and help build support for future projects.

Who we're looking for

You’ll bring a broad range of the following knowledge, skills and experience, shaped by different roles, sectors or career paths, and the judgment to apply them effectively at scale;

  • practically experienced in project management processes, administration and systems, including procurement, finance and reporting
  • good at working with all kinds of people and organisations, able to build and sustain strong working relationships
  • familiar with budgeting and able to collate, maintain, analyse and prepare data for reports
  • used to conducting research or analysing evidence (including past findings, market research and understanding audiences) to support decisions
  • comfortable with Microsoft packages, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and other systems such as financial and visitor analytics
  • skilled at multi-tasking, prioritising your workload and meeting targets through your thorough and detailed approach to work
  • confident with managing diaries and organising practicalities for face-to-face meetings.
