Job summary

Marc Daniels is recruiting a Senior Project Accountant to join its Finance team, taking ownership of revenue recognition, WIP, and project balance accuracy.

You will lead month-end close for project ledgers, prepare the monthly project summary and support management accounts down to gross margin, and provide clear commentary on variance movements. Working closely with Commercial Finance and operational teams, you will bring structure, control, and insight to a fast-growing business.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong project accounting and revenue recognition experience.
• Good knowledge of month-end processes, reconciliations, and management reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly revenue recognition across all revenue-generating disciplines on a percentage completion basis.
• Account for WIP, accrued revenue, deferred revenue, contract assets, and contract liabilities.
• Reconcile certified and applied values against revenue recognised and explain variances.
• Own project cost accruals, subcontract accounting, provisions, retentions, and related balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead month-end close for project ledgers, including cut-off and period-end adjustments.
• Produce the monthly project summary report, covering P&L and balance sheet movements.
• Reconcile the project ledger to the general ledger and support statutory reporting.
• Prepare the trading result down to gross margin within the monthly management accounts.
• Provide commentary on movements in revenue, cost, margin, and intercompany balances.
