Marc Daniels in Manchester is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to own the full month-end cycle and lead the management accounting function. You will drive process improvements, manage performance, and partner with senior stakeholders across the group.

In this high-visibility role you will oversee month-end and year-end close, deliver KPI analysis and commentary, and develop a high-performing management accounting team.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
• Experience leading the full month-end cycle in a multi-entity environment.
• Proven track record of building and developing large teams and coaching staff.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and year-end close including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
• Produce monthly management accounts with KPI analysis, variance explanations and clear commentary for senior leadership.
• Direct line-management of the management accounting team (8 staff), including workload planning and coaching.
• Review and sign-off P&L, balance sheet, cash flow analysis and month-end packs.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls, policies and governance across the function.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audits and compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS as applicable.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting with commercial and operational leaders.
• Identify and deliver process improvements, automation and ERP/reporting tool enhancements.
• Provide strategic FP&A/business partnering support to department heads and the executive team.
