Job summary

Corus Consultancy Limited is seeking a hands-on service manager to oversee a team of Progression Coaches. The role involves line management, safeguarding, and ensuring high-quality risk assessments and support plans for clients experiencing homelessness or related challenges.

You will lead on community partnerships, support client participation in education and volunteering, and ensure health and safety across the service while coordinating with internal departments for smooth operations.

Responsibilities

  • Hold line management responsibility for 4 Progression Coaches and supervise staff.
  • Ensure high quality risk assessments and SMART outcome plans for clients.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group support to increase client resilience.
  • Lead partnerships with local agencies to support client wellbeing.
  • Involve clients in decisions about their care and participate in wider programmes.
  • Support client access to Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering.
  • Ensure Health and Safety compliance and regular checks.
  • Coordinate with Finance, HR and other departments for smooth service delivery.
  • Oversee administrative tasks including rent and petty cash records.

Job description

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 10AM - 6PM. Temp role - 1 - 2 months

In this position, you will be expected to;
  • Hold line management responsibility for 4 Progression Coaches, and any other staff as deemed appropriate by your line manager, including undertaking supervision and appraisals and all other aspects of staff management
  • Ensure the high quality of risk and needs assessments SMART outcomes based support plans and case files for clients of your line reports
  • Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.
  • Proactively lead on partnerships with local agencies including statutory teams, to support the wellbeing of clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols.
  • Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the organisation's wider community programme of activities
  • Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities
  • Ensure the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular risk assessment, health and safety checks and reporting in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy.
  • Liaise with internal departments including Finance, HR, Fundraising and Business Development as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the service.
  • Ensure the accurate collection and recording of rent, charges and petty cash and the countersigning of invoices to support good financial
  • Oversee repairs and maintenance reporting to ensure the building is kept in good order and safe for clients to reside in.
  • Deploy and supervise the work of the volunteers who add value to the work that we do
  • Support the service manager to recruit and induct new staff and will act as a positive model at all times.

  • Experience of supervising the work of others
  • An understanding and commitment to working in an assets-based way
  • Experience of working with young people or people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use or have a history of living in care.
  • Experience of using Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Experience of operating safeguarding requirements and procedures
  • Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others.
  • High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain boundaries
  • Effective collaborative working
