Job summary

NHS Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Programme Manager (Estates) to drive the Estates Infrastructure Strategy and support a shift toward integrated, community-based care across Greater Manchester.

You will manage a high-profile portfolio, work with Place teams, GMCA, local authorities and system partners to optimise estate value and enable preventative, neighbourhood-focused services.

Job description

NHS Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Programme Manager (Estates) to play a key role in delivering our ambitious Estates Infrastructure Strategy and supporting the shift from hospital-based care towards integrated, preventative services delivered closer to home.

You will manage a varied and high-profile portfolio of work across a complex partnership landscape, working with Place teams, providers, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), local authorities and wider system partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of health and care infrastructure across Greater Manchester. The role will help ensure that the health and care estate enables improved health outcomes, supports neighbourhood-based models of care, reduces health inequalities, and maximises opportunities for collaborative use of public sector assets.

You will support estate optimisation programmes, improve utilisation of existing assets, and help ensure the estate delivers best value for public investment. The portfolio is diverse and evolving, requiring a flexible and proactive approach., The role will lead and support a varied portfolio of work across Greater Manchester, including:

Delivery of the NHS GM Estates Infrastructure Strategy.

Supporting the development of Neighbourhood Health Centres and integrated community facilities.

Leading estate optimisation, utilisation reviews and estate rationalisation programmes.

Supporting major refurbishment, redevelopment and new-build projects.

Developing business cases and strategic estates plans informed by data, evidence and service need.

Managing key relationships with NHS Property Services, Community Health Partnerships and other strategic partners.

You will have significant experience of estates management and a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex, high-value programmes. You will be able to work confidently across organisational boundaries, influencing senior stakeholders and translating strategic ambitions into deliverable programmes of work and outcomes.

NHS GM plans and delivers joined-up services to improve the health and wellbeing of the population residing in Greater Manchester. Its goals include improving population health and healthcare outcomes, tackling inequalities, enhancing productivity and value for money, and supporting broader social and economic development.This will be achieved at various levels, including neighbourhood, place, combinations of places, and the Greater Manchester system.
