Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Newcastle is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager - Mechanical to lead engineering services across a complex healthcare environment, ensuring safe, compliant and high-performing estates delivery.

You’ll own engineering operations, leading teams to deliver planned and reactive maintenance while supporting critical clinical services, shaping strategy and driving continuous improvement across the estate.

Qualifications

• Required NEBOSH/IOSH/IWFM or equivalent engineering/FM qualifications.
• Significant experience in a senior technical leadership role within FM or healthcare environments.
• Strong knowledge of compliance, engineering standards and safe systems of work.

• Lead and manage engineering maintenance and estates services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and HTMs/HBNs
• Oversee PPM, lifecycle planning and risk management to minimise disruption to clinical operations
• Act as Authorised Person / Lead Authorised Person and ensure safe systems of work are followed
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, NHS stakeholders and external partners
• Drive performance, continuous improvement and value for money across engineering services

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager - Mechanical to lead engineering services across a complex healthcare environment, ensuring safe, compliant and high-performing estates delivery.

You’ll take ownership of engineering operations, leading teams to deliver planned and reactive maintenance while supporting critical clinical services. This is a senior leadership role where your expertise will shape strategy, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement across the estate.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage engineering maintenance and estates services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and HTMs/HBNs
• Oversee PPM, lifecycle planning and risk management to minimise disruption to clinical operations
