Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. in the Peterborough hybrid region is seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead a capital investment programme within the @one Alliance, overseeing major infrastructure projects and sustainability initiatives that support the business plan.

You will collaborate with the Head of SHEA to implement policy, ensure compliance, and drive performance across multiple workstreams, while guiding budgets, forecasts and benefits realization.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in programme management within large infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing large programmes of work, c£70-90m a year.
• Strong commercial awareness, leadership experience, and stakeholder influencing skills.
• passion for driving sustainable, measurable change.
• Tier 1 contracting experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across multiple workstreams.
• Ability to develop compelling business cases and track delivery of benefits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an industry-leading SHEA strategy, implementation and performance for the business.
• Implement and comply with the @one alliance SHEA policy and procedures and all legal requirements, including staff competence training.
• Ensure successful delivery of each project and portfolio while meeting performance criteria.
• Manage the commercial and financial performance of the business unit including budgets, forecasts and financial controls.
• Drive the team to outperform Anglian Water targets on carbon and lead sustainability improvements linked to climate change and six capitals.
• Outline and implement the business and delivery plans in conjunction with the @one alliance plan and strategy.
• Develop and maintain relationships across Anglian Water, alliance partners and the supply chain to create transparency and trust.
• Lead the Infrastructure Management team to become digitally enabled, innovative and sector leading; keep the customer in focus in all we do.

Be the Driving Force Behind Environmental Progress

Location: Hybrid – Peterborough Help lead one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure transformations. We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. Working in AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands. To ensure we can outperform against the Anglian Water business plan, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Programme Manager to join us and lead on our Water projects across designated areas of the region, responsible for the delivery of a capital investment programme.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Head of SHEA to lead and manage an industry-leading SHEA strategy, implementation and performance for the business.
• To implement and comply with the @one alliance’s SHEA policy and procedures and all legal requirements therein including correct competence training for staff to deliver site work.
• Ensure successful delivery of each project and portfolio whilst delivering compliance to all performance criteria.
• Manage the commercial and financial performance of the business unit including annual budgets, forecasts and financial controls.
• Drive the team to significantly outperform Anglian Water targets on carbon and take a leading role in sustainability improvements linked to climate change and six capitals in the business.
• Outline and implement the business and delivery plans for the business in conjunction with the overarching @one alliance business plan and strategy.
• Develop, implement and maintain exceptional relationships across Anglian Water, the alliance partners and the supply chain to create transparency and trust.
• Develop, lead and manage the Infrastructure Management team to become digitally enabled, innovative and sector leading; having the customer in mind in all that we do.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven track record in programme management within large infrastructure environments

• Passion for driving sustainable, measurable change

Desirable

• Experience with recycled water or water-sector assets
• Change leadership experience across digital, people or systems programmes
• Familiarity with regulated utilities and capital investment cycles
