We are looking for a technically skilled Senior Technician to join Bristol City Council's Strategic Highway Maintenance Team. In this rewarding role, you will take the lead in planning, managing, and delivering a varied programme of highway maintenance projects that keep Bristol moving safely and efficiently.
As a Senior Technician, you will play a key role in delivering planned highway maintenance schemes across the city. Working alongside experienced colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders, you will manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You will provide technical expertise, supervise complex projects, coordinate resources, and contribute to the ongoing development of maintenance strategies and service improvements across Bristol's transport network.
We're looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with practical problem solving, enabled by strong project management and communication skills.
Experience working within local government and knowledge of project management software such as Microsoft Project would be advantageous but is not essential.

The role includes regular site-based work in all weather conditions and occasional out-of-hours working to support project delivery and supervision of works, for which enhancements are payable.
A valid UK driving licence is required. Additionally, as Bristol City Council operates a grey fleet policy, you will be required to use your own vehicle for business travel, with mileage reimbursement and parking provided.
