Job summary

Barclays in Glasgow seeks a Senior Service Engineer to provide L2 production support for critical applications within Data Delivery, Controls & Analytics. You will monitor infrastructure, resolve complex issues, and work to minimise disruption across the production environment.

Role requires MSSQL/Oracle, Unix Shell, Python scripting, and experience with AWS/OpenShift APIs, plus familiarity with monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos and AppDynamics. Prior CI/CD, banking, AML knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with L2 production support and incident management.
• Proficiency in MSSQL/Oracle and Unix Shell/Python scripting.
• Cloud technologies including AWS and OpenShift/APIs.
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools such as ITRS Geneos and AppDynamics.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), Hadoop, GenAI.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the service management function to resolve complex issues for a specific client or group of clients.
• Develop the support model and service offering to improve the service to customers and stakeholders.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and monitor tools/metrics to identify and prevent issues.
• Maintain a knowledge base with resolved cases for self-service and knowledge sharing.
• Analyze system logs, errors and user reports to identify root causes and provide resolutions.
• Proactively implement automations to maintain stability and drive efficiency.
