Job description

Industrious Recruitment is seeking Senior Production Operatives within the Process department on a permanent basis for a client in Dunstable.

Hourly rates:

AM shift - £14.53 per hour, Overtime - £21.80 per hour
PM shift - £16.42 per hour, Overtime - £24.63 per hour

WORKING PATTERN:

You will participate in a 2-week in 4-shift pattern, which includes:

• 2 weeks working between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid break)
• 2 weeks working between 1:45 pm and 11:45 pm, Monday to Thursday (with a 30-minute unpaid break)

Main Purpose of Role:

Assist the Process Supervisor in managing the planning, coordination, and control of resources in the Process Area to ensure products are packed according to the schedule while maintaining safety, quality standards, and controlling costs and wastage. The role aims to add value for customers, employees, and the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all supervisor food safety and health and safety checks are completed timely and report issues to QA immediately.
• Maintain the provided radio, keeping it fully charged during shifts.
• When the Supervisor is unavailable, open and lock the factory, and start up and shut down the plant.
• Adhere to all company health and safety policies.
• Maintain excellent GMP standards in the Packing Area, meeting quality standards and passing external audits.
• Ensure 100% compliance with product specifications.
• Manage data collection and monitoring systems, ensuring documentation and communication are timely and accurate.
• Assist in motivating, managing, training, and developing team members, identifying training needs.
• Ensure the Process area operates at optimal output, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
• Meet set KPIs, and report reasons when targets are not met.
• Manage costs, yields, and giveaways within the Packing Department.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Essential:

• Computer literate
• Planning and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

• Counterbalance and/or Bendi Fork Lift Truck Licence
• Experience with BRC and customer audits
• Experience with SAP software
• Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques
• Experience in stock control systems
