Job description

Production Operative - Cable Assembly
Location: Groby, Leicester
Hours: Monday to Friday, early finish at 1pm on Fridays
Pay: 12.21 per hour + frequent overtime available
Start: ASAP Temp to Perm Opportunity

We're currently recruiting for a hands-on Production Operative to join a busy and fast-paced manufacturing department that supplies high-precision sensor components to a global customer base. This is a unique opportunity that doesn't require specific experience, but does require someone reliable, practical, and keen to learn.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for supporting daily production targets by assembling and preparing cables used in sensor manufacturing. This includes:

  • Cutting, stripping, crimping (manual and electrical), and tinning cable assemblies

  • Using the internal system to review and manage daily production requirements

  • Measuring and preparing cables ranging from 1 to 50 metres

  • Supplying teams with the appropriate materials for their builds

  • Handling components that vary in weight - the work can be physically demanding

  • Reading and following detailed instructions, including technical drawings

  • Working with both mechanical and electrical components

  • Supporting potential future tasks such as moulding, soldering, and booting

Full training will be provided, but any prior experience using crimping tools or working with electrical or mechanical assemblies is desirable.

About You:

  • Able to work accurately and follow instructions

  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail

  • Comfortable lifting, moving, and handling production materials as part of daily duties

  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team

  • Positive attitude and open to learning new skills
