Job summary

Babcock, a global defence engineering leader, is hiring a Production Controller at their Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth. This full-time role with hybrid working arrangements supports major naval engineering programmes.

You will coordinate production activities, develop schedules, manage stakeholders across operations and engineering, and help deliver projects safely, efficiently and to high standards. Security clearance SC is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production planning, project controls, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of production planning and scheduling processes.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, safe systems of work, and continuous improvement practices.
• ONC qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production activities to ensure materials, documentation, and technical information are available when required.
• Develop and maintain production schedules to support successful project delivery.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across operational, engineering, and project teams.
• Conduct inspections and audits to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
• Support the resolution of production challenges to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
