Job summary

1st Formations is seeking a Senior Product Manager to shape the evolution of our integrated platform. You’ll own strategy and execution for core formation, compliance, accounting, and payroll workflows as we scale.

You’ll partner with engineering on API strategy, with design on user experience, and with compliance to meet regulatory requirements. You’ll use data to prioritise the roadmap and make trade-offs on build vs buy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience with increasing scope
• Hands-on API/integration and system architecture experience
• Experience owning a product area with meaningful technical complexity (integrations, platform)
• Excellent cross-functional communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in a startup or scaleup with fast-paced change
• Strong analytical mindset with metrics and data-driven prioritisation
• Familiarity with compliance/regulatory constraints in product decisions
• Experience mentoring or providing product leadership to others

Responsibilities

• Own product strategy and roadmap for key platform areas, including integrations with third‑party services (e.g. Companies House, accounting/payroll systems, payment providers)
• Define and prioritise the API and integration roadmap, working closely with engineering on technical design and architecture decisions
• Translate business and user requirements into clear technical specifications engineers can build against
• Partner with engineering to evaluate build vs. buy decisions and assess third‑party integration partners
• Work with design to ensure user‑facing experiences are well‑supported by underlying technical architecture
• Partner with compliance to ensure new capabilities meet regulatory requirements
• Define and track product metrics, using data to inform prioritisation and validate outcomes
• Communicate roadmap, trade‑offs, and technical constraints clearly to senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams
• Run discovery with users and internal stakeholders to validate problems before committing engineering resource
• Mentor and support the development of other product managers, where applicable
