Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the User Centred Design practice in Warwick. You will work in a cross-functional squad and guide discovery, design and delivery for enterprise platforms with flexible hybrid working from Warwick.

You will map user journeys, translate requirements into intuitive interfaces, and create wireframes and high-fidelity designs for hand-off to engineering, iterating based on feedback and analytics.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in UX/digital product design and strategy.
• Experience designing for enterprise or B2B software with complex workflows.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end delivery and UI skills.
• Proficiency in Figma, component libraries, variants and prototyping.
• Experience developing and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries.
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research tools (UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, HotJar, Pendo).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication to convey design rationale to stakeholders.
• Comfort autonomous work, ambiguity, and multi-delivery priorities.
• Experience using AI tools in design workflow.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Owner and Tech Lead to understand outcomes and user interactions.
• Map end-to-end journeys, surface pain points and opportunities.
• Translate needs and constraints into clear problem statements.
• Run discovery and usability evaluations early in work.
• Turn complex requirements into intuitive interfaces and wireframes.
• Create high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes.
• Produce final visuals and specs for engineering hand-off.
• Iterate designs based on feedback, testing and analytics.
