Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Principal Network Engineer - Wireless to lead enterprise WLAN design, deployment and lifecycle across office, operational and industrial environments in the Warwick region.

The role requires 10+ years in enterprise networking, hands-on WLAN expertise with Cisco/Aruba, and strong ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and engage senior stakeholders. Hybrid working with occasional travel is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field or experience.
• 10+ years in enterprise network engineering with WLAN expertise.
• Experience as a technical authority for enterprise wireless services.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimise enterprise wireless LAN across environments.
• Lead engineering of wireless solutions with design principles and controls.
• Provide guidance on architecture, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Lead complex projects, act as team leader and individual contributor.
• Conduct predictive and onsite surveys with Ekahau/Hamina; create BOMs.
• Lead troubleshooting of Wi-Fi issues including roaming and interference.
