Job summary

Good Energy in the UK is hiring a Product Designer to craft user-centred digital experiences. You’ll design wireframes, flows, UI components and prototypes, and contribute to our design system while collaborating closely with product designers, managers and engineers.

You’ll apply user research, accessibility and inclusive design, map end-to-end journeys across digital and non-digital touchpoints, and translate insights into polished interfaces.

Qualifications

• A portfolio demonstrating a practical and collaborative approach to solving design problems.
• Experience designing digital products or services, whether through professional work, placements, internships, freelance work or relevant projects.
• Proficiency with Figma and a solid understanding of design systems or component libraries.
• A strong understanding of user-centred design, with experience using user research and evidence to inform design decisions.
• Practical experience creating wireframes, user flows, prototypes and UI designs.
• An understanding of end-to-end customer journeys and common product design methods.
• A solid understanding of digital accessibility, inclusive design and responsive design.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills, with a willingness to ask questions, take feedback and continue developing your skills
• Experience conducting user research or usability testing.
• Experience mapping complex customer journeys or end-to-end service experiences.
• Hands-on experience contributing to a design system.
• Experience using collaborative tools such as Miro.
• Experience working across both digital and non-digital touchpoints of a service.
• Familiarity with using approved AI tools to support design work, including reviewing and validating their output.

Responsibilities

• UX/UI design and prototyping: Create wireframes, user flows, UI designs and prototypes that clearly communicate how an experience should work.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with product designers, product managers, engineers and wider teams.
• Customer research and discovery: Contribute to customer research, usability testing and discovery activities.
• Journey mapping and service design: Help map customer journeys and service experiences.
• Accessibility and inclusive design: Apply user-centred design principles to accessibility considerations.
• Design systems and visual communication: Use and contribute to our design system and create visual assets.
