Job summary

SmartestEnergy Business Limited is seeking a Senior Product Control Analyst for a 24 month FTC in the UK. You will understand complex financial positions, focusing on valuation, P&L, risk, and reporting, while automating processes with Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, and Power BI.

The role emphasizes ownership, independent work, and clear, practical recommendations to stakeholders across the business. You will engage in risk assessment, support new products and markets, and contribute to wider projects

Qualifications

• Experience in Product Control or Market Risk.
• Exposure to Gas & Power Trading/Sales/Flow industries.
• Sound understanding of financial products and trading businesses.
• Knowledge of commodities, profit & loss attribution.
• Experience with Derivatives, FX, Futures, Swaps, Options and Option Greeks.

Responsibilities

• Assess risk, support new products and markets, and contribute to wider projects.
• Build and test models; translate complex analysis into practical recommendations.
• Develop concepts and drive improvements using coding and data tools.
• Explain numbers clearly to stakeholders and influence decisions.
