Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent Join our procurement team to become a key member of our fast-paced highly dynamic service, procuring a whole host of important and interesting contracts for goods works and services across a range of sectors. This is the perfect role to use your expertise of procurement, tendering and contract management processes, as well as knowledge of contract law, to drive value for money and ensure procurement supports the delivery of our corporate priorities. You’ll be involved in and influence a range of critical procurement projects, providing expert advice and responding to complex queries. You’ll lead on procurement activity more independently including those of higher value and higher complexity, managing communications with suppliers and working with legal specialists. As the Senior Procurement Officer, you’ll coach, support and supervise junior members of the team, playing an active role in their growth and progression. This includes providing guidance on best practices, sharing technical knowledge, offering constructive feedback and helping them build the skills and confidence needed to succeed within the procurement function.
You’ll be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise time and objectives. With strong analytical skills you’ll be able to review information presented within tender responses and evaluations to identify the best value. In addition, you’ll have excellent communication skills, ability to present statistical or technical reports and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders. Using proficient IT skills you’ll be able to use and manage our IT tendering systems for advertising contracts. You’ll have knowledge and experience relevant to a specific category specialism, e.g., Goods, Works and Services, including Procurement Act 2023 training (TPP) or commitment to complete this within 4 weeks of starting. The roles are subject to a DBS check and Right to Work check. We are unable to offer sponsorship with this role.
