Job summary

Thermulon in London seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead technology selection and qualification for scale-up from pilot to commercial production. You will own trial strategy, run vendor trials, and guide equipment choices across UK and Europe.

You will work closely with the process engineering team, R&D, and external partners, ensuring safety, high-quality data, and robust scale-up decisions while traveling to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on process development/scale-up in chemical industry.
• Experience planning and running equipment trials with vendors.
• Solid mass and energy balance and scale-up calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication with reports.
• Creative and proactive problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to travel to UK/Europe sites for trials and scale-up.
• Experience with safety risk assessments and MOC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own technology selection and qualification end-to-end, setting trial strategy.
• Identify and compare candidate technologies and equipment vendors.
• Plan and lead equipment trials from small to large scale.
• Attend trials on site and deliver clear recommendations.
• Define user requirements, bids, and evaluation for equipment.
• Define acceptance criteria and lead FAT/SAT and commissioning support.
• Ensure trials are conducted safely with risk assessments.
• Support toll-manufacturing scale-up and data reporting for scale-up decisions.
• Contribute to process documentation and MT/technical risk management.
