Uplift360 is an UK-based Advanced Materials company seeking a process engineer to own the experimental programme and scale-up translation from lab to pilot line. You will define the questions, design trials, and translate outcomes into actionable process decisions, bridging chemistry and pilot-plant teams to tackle mass and heat transfer, residence time, and mixing issues.

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in reaction engineering, mass and energy balances, and unit operations.
• Ability to design and own structured experimental programmes.
• Hands-on pilot or lab-scale process operations experience.
• Experience with solvent-based, reactive, or dissolution chemistry processes.
• Familiarity with process safety principles—HAZOP participation, risk assessment, COSHH.
• NEBOSH Process Safety Management or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Develop the structured experimental programme for ChemR process development—define questions and design trials.
• Investigate chemical and engineering variables (temperature, solvent, concentrations, kinetics; residence time, mixing, heat transfer).
• Apply sound experimental design principles: structured work packages, controlled variables, meaningful datasets.
• Translate lab-scale conditions into pilot-scale operating parameters.
• Identify and resolve scale-up challenges: mass/heat transfer, mixing, residence time distribution.
• Contribute to commissioning of new process equipment and SOPs.
• Generate technical reports and contribute to grant applications and funding reports.
