We're working with an ambitious and well-funded cleantech company based in West London, currently seeking a
Senior Process Engineer to support the scale-up and commercialisation of their novel hydrogen technology.
The RoleAs Senior Process Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving process engineering activities across a unique electrochemical platform. Working closely with the internal tech team, partners, and vendors, you'll lead the development and integration of systems operating under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and deliver process engineering design (PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances)
- Develop specifications for equipment and instrumentation
- Perform detailed design calculations and process modelling
- Collaborate with subcontractors and partners to drive progress toward TRL6 by 2026 and pilot-scale delivery by 2027
- Support procurement, hazard/risk assessments, and safety-focused design
- Assist with lab-scale testing and contribute to scaling efforts
- Take part in bid writing and customer-facing proposal work
What They're Looking ForEssential:- MSc (or higher) in Chemical/Process Engineering
- Experience working with high-pressure/high-temperature systems and flammable gases
- Proficiency in process modelling tools (e.g., Aspen, HYSYS, PRO II, or Unisim)
- Proven delivery of projects across the full lifecycle: feasibility through to operations
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset
- Comfortable in a start-up environment with self-starting, problem-solving attitude
Desirable:- Background in electrolysis, fuel cells, or hydrogen system design
- Experience working with supercritical water or oxygen systems
- Familiarity with thermal design tools (e.g., HTRI) and CFD
- Chartered status
